I have RED hair and DIDN"T get a massage!

So, here is what has been going on lately around our house.

Last weekend I decided to dye my hair before the baby gets here. Abby Grace and I went to Walmart and checked out all the colors. We go with the dark brown with a hint of auburn since I always like a little red. Well, as I was working on it...it was looking very pink. I knew once I washed it out it would probably be okay...but NO! It was soooo red! I am not the smartest girl on the block and now I know that the hormones you produce during pregnancy can affect the coloring when you do your hair. So my advice is: Gray is okay!!!...better than RED!

I also thought I had food poisoning from some pot roast last weekend. Since it lingered a little too long, I went to the doc on Tuesday afternoon. Turns out that I had a stomach virus. Baby was doing great and set an appointment for a week out.

Lately, I have been having some major trouble sleeping and my shoulder has been hurting which makes it even harder. Justin made me a prenatal massage appointment for today. I drove all the way to town, filled out the paperwork....and then was informed that no one was available for a prenatal massage. Justin had told the guy that I am 37 weeks when he booked the appointment and I put it on all the paperwork. UGH!!! I got in the car and just started to cry! Everywhere else was either booked or closed on Sundays.

Due Date/ Abby Grace's School Theory

Last week I went to my weekly doctor visit. He said that I should make it to my due date... another four weeks. I am scheduled for Thursday, March 18th at 7:30am. Twenty five days to go!!!

Abby Grace came up with her own theory last week about me being pregnant and her having to attend school. We were in the car and she explained her thoughts. "Mommy, I was going to school three days a week. When you got pregnant with Ashlyn, I only had to go two days a week. If you get pregnant again, I can go to school one day a week. If you have another one, I won't have to go to school at all. Then you will have four kids." I informed her that although that was smart thinking on her part, but mommy will not have anymore children and she will go to school five days a week starting in August.

Justin wanted his turn in the snow

On Friday all the schools and most businesses were closed, but not the Town of Flower Mound. Justin drove all the way into town the the heavy snow. Once he got there, he realized that the power was out so he had to turn around and drive all the way back! :(
He and Abby Grace got to play all afternoon in the snow. Later we left for a movie and dinner. Abby Grace got Mommy her favorite candle for Valentine's Day and Daddy got Mommy the new Michael Buble CD and tickets to his show in Dallas for July! What a great celebration we had as a family.
Today Justin and Abby Grace are going on their special Valentine's Day date. They played her new WII game all morning and they are leaving for an afternoon movie. I love when they get to hang out together...they are starting a new tradition with a Daddy/Daughter Valentine's Date Day!

Snow in February

Well, we heard that there was a possibility for snow around lunch today. I woke up at 6:30am this morning and looked out the window...it was a complete white blanket of beautiful snow. Apparently, it started snowing late last night and will not stop until early tomorrow morning. All schools have been cancelled and it is a major snow day for us. The weather channel is saying that we have already gotten 5-6 inches of snow. Unfortunately, Justin still had to go to work.

My friend Michelle asked me to watch her son, Brody, for a little while so she could get some work done at the office. After much begging from Abby Grace and Brody, I (being 9 months pregnant) took them out to play in the snow. Check out all the cute pictures!

I CAN WALK

I just wanted to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers as I have been recovering from knee surgery. In case you were hiding under a rock the last two months I had ACL and Microfracture surgery on my left knee on December 10th. My orthopedic said I could not put any weight on my left leg for eight weeks and I also had to use cructhes and wear a brace for those eight weeks. As if thats not bad enough, I also had to put my knee in a CPM Machine for eight hours a day for those eight weeks. Well guess what, those eight weeks are now over and I saw the orthopedic today. He said everything looks good, I just need to work on my extention a little bit more as my leg will not go completley straight. Good news is he said I could get rid of the crutches and the brace and said I could begin walking!!!!! I have no pain right now it just feels really weird and weak. He said it would be about two weeks before it would start feeling normal again as I gain strength in the leg. I need to give Jenny a big thank you and I love you as she has taken good care of me and been a huge help as I have been recovering. The timing has worked at great as I now will be walking when our precious Ashlyn Rose gets here! Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers and hopefully I will be able to return to full duty by July or August.

Doctor's Appointment

I met with Dr. VanDell this morning. I had an ultrasound and got to see Ashlyn Rose. She was sucking her thumb and squirming around. She weighs 4lbs 8oz. They said that she should weigh around 7lbs by delivery. Dr. VanDell said that everything looks perfect and he would see me back in a week. He advised that I take it easy and keep my feet up whenever I have a chance.

Ashlyn's Shower in West Monroe

My wonderful West Monroe friends threw me a fabulous shower for all of my family and friends. The shower was perfect!

Our Family

Justin & I were married on April 5, 2003. We will celebrate our 7th anniversary this year. We had our first daughter, Abby Grace on October 31, 2004. She just turned 5. Our biggest change for our family was when we moved to Texas two years ago. Justin works as a police officer and I work as a marketing director at Chick-fil-A. We are expecting our second daughter, Ashlyn Rose on March 17th. The purpose of this blog is to update family and friends on our life changes and day-to-day exciting activities involving the girls.
